A Dangerous Time

Well summer has ended and Pluto has turned direct. Saturn and Uranus have gone to opposition and will return on and off until next year. Soon the beginning of Fall will arrive on the 22nd and we are in for a difficult time. I have been looking closely at President Obama's chart. Public rancor has increased and I have feared for Mr. Obama's safety. This leads me to examine his chart. Since we have an accurate birth time for him (contrary to what some might say) we can have some confidence in the forecast.

I see a grave threat building so caution and vigilance is needed for those who protect our president. Thankfully, we have the best protection service in the world in the U.S. Secret Service so I am hopeful any problem will be neutralized quickly and effectively.

But here is what I see developing in the chart: From November the 8th to November 21st, transiting Pluto will go opposite Mr. Obama's natal Venus with transiting Saturn squaring this opposition. His natal Venus rules his 4th House of endings and Pluto indicates transformation and forced change. Saturn rule his first house of the physical body and Saturn is transiting the 8th house of death. Saturn is also stressing the progressed Sun which rules the house open enemies the 7th. Furthermore Saturn is conjunct his progressed IC again endings are emphasized. The Nodes are active as well the North Node is active over Natal Saturn and Progressed Saturn along with the Natal North Node progressed to near partile conjunction with Natal Uranus. These suggest a time of personal destiny being fulfilled or what you were born to do. Mars will conjunct his natal Sun on November 11th and 12th these are critical days -- it suggests force or anger at this critical time. Could it be someone’s temper will boiled over to the point that they feel like they must act?

While I will not go as far as predicting the worse I will say caution is warranted. Of course this could also translate into a failure of Health Care Reform on a less critical level. Neither prospect seems favorable in November.

So can we glean any insight from Vice President Biden chart? More on that to come...

Astrology of Swine Flu

I’ve been looking into flu pandemics and astrologic combinations since the recent flu outbreak was announced. As far back as 1580 when the first flu pandemic was recognized Saturn and Uranus have been in contact in most cases. Saturn delights in the 12th and 6th houses (Pisces and Virgo by sign) so confinement and disease/public health are located in those houses/signs. Uranus ruler of Aquarius involves humanity and group interaction and some say influenza specifically -- not to mention surprise epidemics.

So that said, in 1829 before the pandemic of 1830-33 Saturn was in Leo opposite Uranus at 10 Aquarius. During the Hong Kong Flu outbreak in July of 1968 Saturn at 25 Aries was inconjunct Uranus at 25 Virgo. The Swine Flu scare of 1976 we had Saturn at 3 Leo squaring Uranus at 3 Scorpio. But the more important and deadly pandemic was in 1918 when in October, Saturn was at 24 Leo opposite Uranus at 24 Leo. The last week of October 1918 saw the peak in deaths in several major cities around the world.

Well, what is the potential for this Swine Flu? Interestingly enough Saturn at 20 Virgo was opposite Uranus at 20 Pisces in February of this year. The Mexican health authorities have pinpointed the initial outbreak to this February. Unfortunately these two planet go into opposition one more time in September at 24Virgo/24 Pisces at sensitive degrees for epidemics and an echo of the 1918 outbreak.

Will it be as bad as 1918? Probably not in terms of percentages but there will be a death toll that might approach 1918. I think the U.S. is in good shape. Uranus rules invention and we have come a long way in preventing disease and creating new treatments. There are similarities between this flu and the 1918 flu. I fear we will know soon enough.

Pakistan: Secular or Sharia?

I’ve taken the time to look more closely at the Pakistan national chart. As I mention in the March 24, 2009 blog, I was concerned about this Fall that something could potentially happen with Pakistan or Iran/Israel or both. Here’s why I think Pakistan could pose a potential threat:

First, Pluto has been transiting opposite Mars which is located on the Midheaven. This will undermine the current government and with Mars transiting it’s natal position August 26th there could be a triggering event just prior to or on that date which might get the ball rolling toward a coup.

Second Progressed Saturn is on the natal Sun. The Sun rules help and cooperation from other foreign countries. This has been the one area that Pakistan could rely but with Saturn making a progress conjunction the help may not come quick enough or forcefully enough to matter.

Third, transiting Uranus has been traveling through Pakistan’s 6th house the house of the common people and transiting near the Vertex. Expect the unexpected as thing could spiral out of control.

Fourth, the progressed Midheaven moves to a new sign Virgo at 0 degrees. This is quite a shock to the governmental order signaling a need to pay attention to the health and well being of the people or expect the consequences of inaction.

I would expect violence to erupt between the middle of August and the middle of September. In mid-September Pluto goes direct on 9-11 that’s more than a little disconcerting. Then on October 26th Transiting Saturn crosses over the Ascendant this could signal the beginning of a restrictive government under Sharia law.

Let’s hope none of this occurs or is thwarted, Pakistan possesses WMDs and allowing radicals to spread this destruction to other parts of the world would be unthinkable not to mention nearly impossible for the U.S. and it’s allies to carry out it’s mission in Afghanistan effectively.
